Touhou Mahjong Set

In the world of gaming there are only two things that consistently make me happy: Touhou and Mahjong. Each of which I could devote a review to, though I have a feeling they would quite long and arduous. Imagine my delight when I discovered that someone in Japan felt my desires too and produced a high quality, fully legal Touhou mahjong set. Now, not only could I have my cake, but I could have Touhous on my mahjongs! Oh, and I could eat the cake too.

Naomi

A while back, my brother gave me a book to read. I think I had been lamenting the state of my love life at the time and probably making disparaging remarks about the fairer sex. At any rate, into my hands he thrust  a small paperback with the picture of a, to me, not very attractive lady on the front. The Stories of Ibis

Really, you shouldn’t put too much stock into the Amazon recommendation system. You would think I’d have learned that lesson after it offered to help me buy Hunger Games and Twilight after marking down that I liked The Black Company. Thor

Ok, ok. So I’m late to the party for this one. Everyone and their brother has seen Thor already, especially since Avengers came out. I for one, had not. Partly because I’m too lazy to pay money to see a movie in theaters and partly because comic book movies aren’t my cup of tea to start with. Regardless, when it popped up in my Netflix instant queue, I didn’t have a good reason not to watch it anymore and so, with not many expectations, I delved into what could be the most blah movie I’ve seen in quite some time.

Fullani – フルアニ

I contend that nothing good ever comes of a story that begins with the words “So, this one time, I was on Hongfire.” And nothing proves this more than the tale I am about to tell about the game Fullani. Be mindful that this post is not only possibly not safe for work, but probably not safe for you either.

So, this one time, I was on Hongfire. I had made this egregious mistake earlier this week while searching the vast and wondrous internet for mahjong games that I hadn’t seen before. I had already beaten a fairly high ranking guy on Tenhou and the day before had beaten a ridiculously hard AI on my iPhone mahjong app and so, feeling naïvely confident, I decided to hunt for a more “worthy” challenge. Clearly, as you can tell by the tone of my writing, my hubris would best me in the end.
